"The Boss" died today at the age of 80, victim of a massive heart attack. At certain points in his Yankee ownership career, many wondered if he even had a heart. What he had was very deep pockets and an insatiable desire to win at all cost. He was willing to pay a high price for all the superior talent he assembled for the Yankees throughout the years. For those huge payouts, he demanded superior effort and outstanding performance. If he didn't get both, you were gone. Now, he's gone. Not larger-than- life anymore.
