Brandon McCarthy: Way To Close For Comfort

After knowing what we know now, it's amazing that Brandon McCarthy walked off the field under his own power after being struck on the side of the head by a hard hit line drive on Wednesday afternoon. A CAT scan taken after McCarthy left the game revealed he had a skull fracture, and he underwent surgery Wednesday night. He is listed in stable condition in a hospital critical care unit. The 29 year old is said to be alert and resting comfortably.
