Collegiate Licensed Products: 2012 Sales Leaders




The University of Texas tops the list of top selling licensed products for the period ranging from July 1, 2011 thru June 30, 2012. Rounding out the top 5 were Alabama, Kentucky, Florida and Michigan. Georgia was listed at number 8 for collegiate merchandise sales. Other SEC schools of note were LSU at #6, Auburn at #11, Arkansas at #14, Tennessee at #16, South Carolina at #18, and Ole Miss at #45. College licensed merchandise sells totaled an estimated $4.6 billion on the retail market. Royalties generated from the sale of officially licenses products are paid back to the respective universities. The managing body for the collegiate licensing industry is the Collegiate Licensing Company, or CLC.
