Michael Bennett: A Huge Loss for Georgia

Georgia head coach Mark Richt has confirmed that wide receiver Michael Bennett will miss the remainder of the season after injuring his knee during Tuesday's practice. Bennett is the Bulldogs leading receiver this season, but more than that he has been a great down-field blocker. Some of the long runs Georgia has seen from its tailbacks this year could be attributed to blocks thrown by Bennett. Reconstructive surgery for the redshirt sophomore has not been scheduled to repair the torn ACL Even though Georgia does have depth at the receiver position, the loss of production, not to mention leadership, will be a challenge for the Bulldogs to overcome. To illustrate the character of this kid, he tweeted not long after the injury "God has a plan for me and everything happens for a reason. Get ready for a historic season Dawg Nation. Our boys are gonna get it done!" Heal and rehabilitate quickly "82". We will see you "Between the Hedges" next year. Until then, you will be missed.
